Our Services
Retail & Hospitality
In retail and hospitality, your space is part of the product. DKT Interiors designs restaurants, shops, and guest spaces across Flower Mound and the Dallas Fort Worth metroplex that work as hard for your operators as they do for your guests. We balance brand, flow, code, and budget honestly — and we stay on site through opening day.
What We Design
From a single storefront to a full hotel floor, we cover the disciplines a modern retail or hospitality buildout actually needs.
How We Work
Our Process
Brand Discovery
We sit down with you, your menu or your product, and the story you want guests to walk into. Then we translate it into a design language.
Concept & Customer Journey
We map how a guest moves through the space — entry, pause, purchase, exit — and design every moment around that flow.
Material & FF&E Spec
We specify contract-grade finishes, lighting, furniture, and fixtures that survive heavy daily use and still photograph beautifully.
Installation & Launch
We coordinate with your contractor, vendors, and freight on site through punch list and opening day so nothing slips through the cracks.
Who It's For
Who We Work With
Independent Restaurants
Chef-driven concepts opening their first or second location in DFW. We help you turn a menu and a lease into a dining room that feels intentional from the first table to the back-of-house line.
Boutique Retailers
Small-format shops, showrooms, and pop-ups where the space is part of the product. We design fixtures, lighting, and flow that move customers from window to checkout without them noticing the work.
Hospitality Brands
Independent hotels, short-stay properties, and wellness spaces in the Dallas Fort Worth area. We design lobbies, guest rooms, and shared amenities that guests actually want to photograph and come back to.
Frequently Asked
Questions Answered
How does a designer help a restaurant pass health code and ADA inspections?
We design with the Texas Food Establishment Rules and ADA clearances in mind from day one — specifying smooth, washable wall and floor finishes in food prep zones, planning hand sink locations, maintaining 36-inch accessible routes, and coordinating with your contractor and the local health inspector before finishes get ordered. We are not a substitute for your code consultant or MEP engineer, but we keep the design honest so you do not lose weeks reworking a layout after plan review.
Do you handle FF&E procurement, or do we have to source furniture ourselves?
We handle it. For retail and hospitality projects we manage furniture, fixtures, and equipment specification end to end — sourcing from contract-grade vendors, issuing purchase orders, tracking lead times, coordinating freight to a local Flower Mound or Dallas warehouse, and overseeing installation. You get one point of contact instead of a dozen sales reps.
Can you design within a tenant improvement allowance from our landlord?
Yes. A lot of our DFW retail and restaurant clients come to us with a TI allowance and a tight build-out window. We start by reading your lease exhibit, understanding what the landlord is delivering as the warm shell, and then designing the rest to land within your allowance plus whatever you are willing to invest above it. Being honest about the budget early is what keeps the project on track.
How do you balance our brand identity with practical customer flow?
Brand and flow are not in conflict — they are the same conversation. We start by walking through how a customer enters, what they see first, where they pause, where they pay, and where they leave. Then we layer brand cues like material, color, lighting, and signage into those exact moments. The result is a space that feels like you and still moves people through it without friction.
Can you work with our existing landlord buildout or only ground-up spaces?
Both. Most of the retail and hospitality work we do across the Dallas Fort Worth metroplex is inside an existing shell — sometimes a previous restaurant, sometimes a raw warehouse conversion. We measure what is there, identify what has to stay (structural, MEP, demising walls), and design around those constraints instead of pretending they do not exist.
Are you based in Dallas Fort Worth, and do you visit the site during construction?
We are based in Flower Mound, TX and serve the entire DFW metroplex including Dallas, Fort Worth, Plano, Frisco, and Southlake. Yes, we visit the site during construction — site walks during demo, framing, finish install, and final punch are part of the service, not an extra. Being local is the whole point.
